loyalty among county employees. x and new and disturbing possible motive in connection with last month cafeteria shooting at perry hall high school. attorneys for 15-0 robert gladden say he went to school armed with a shotgun because he expected to be killed. david collins joins us from towson with the latest. >> his attorneys described that desire as suicide by cop. testimony revealed that gladden is under suicide watch. his attorneys described him as scared, depressed, and overwhelmed by his personal circumstances. according to his attorneys, 15- year-old robert gladden went to perry hall high school armed with a shotgun because he expected and desired to be killed. >> i think we are dealing with a child who primarily was motivated to commit suicide by cop. what he was doing was acting out in a terrible fashion in the hope that somebody other than him would pull the trigger for him and he would perish.

>> one of his attorneys had previously said he took the gun to school to intimidate bullies and had no intention of pulling the trigger. baltimore county investigators would not confirm claims that he was a victim of bullying. 17-year-old daniel barley several gunshot to the back and was recently released from hospital. the guidance counselor subdued gladden, pinning him against vending machines. several others suffered minor injuries during the commotion. >> this child asked about the wellbeing of the child that was injured. we told him and he expressed relief and said that someday he would like to meet the child and his parents and express his regret for this behavior. >> robert gladden look just like this poteau as he arrived in circuit court in towson for bail review. he is charged with attempted first-degree murder.

his attorneys tell the judge he is on suicide watch. his attorneys asked for postponement of the bail review until they've had an opportunity to look at the doctors' report. they ask the judge to art -- order a report on his own life. they will use all that information to argue for bail. >> the basic issue is his youthfulness, the fact that he is able to be reached bridget rehabilitated and he has had no prior criminal contacts. these are the kind of things the court will be asked to consider at some point. >> tears streamed from some of his family members. they have not seen him since his arrest. no court date has been set for a bail review or to hear arguments to petition the case back to juvenile court. david collins, wbal-tv 11 news. >> baltimore county school officials are set to introduce a

campus after someone shot a man in the stomach inside the student center just before 5:00 p.m. wednesday. university officials say neither the gunman or the victims were students at the university and are calling the attack a target shooting. students received text alerts and e-mails informing them that the suspect was still at large. >> it is definitely useful because you know what areas to be around or stay away from one counsel. >> the number of students did not receive the alerts right away due to technical issues. >> what apparently happened was, the website reached overload yesterday as information started going out, and people started logging on to the website. but it was back up quickly and the logjam was fixed. >> university officials are pleased with their response to the shooting but say there's always room for improvement. for instance, the morgan state president will speak with members of the cabinet and
